Data we collect

We only collect what is necessary:

• Contact form: name, company, business email address, phone number (optional), company size, subject and content of your message, site language.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type and pages requested, recorded in the server logs to keep the site secure.
• Audience measurement, only if you accept it: pages viewed, visit duration, referring source, device type. See the cookie policy.

Why and on what legal basis

• Responding to your request, arranging a demo or preparing a quote: pre-contractual steps taken at your request and our legitimate interest in responding to prospective customers (article 6.1.b and 6.1.f of the GDPR).
• Keeping the site secure and working properly: legitimate interest (article 6.1.f).
• Measuring site audience: your consent (article 6.1.a), which you can withdraw at any time.

Who has access to your data

Only the BarkelTech team reads your messages. We use service providers that process certain data on our behalf, solely for the purposes of the service:

• Resend (Resend, Inc., United States): delivery of messages sent through the contact form to our mailbox.
• Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.): audience measurement, only if you accept it.

Transfers outside the European Union

Resend and Google may process data in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and, failing that, by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Retention period

• Contact requests and prospective customers: three years from our last exchange.
• Customers: for the whole contractual relationship, then for the applicable statutory limitation periods.
• Server logs: twelve months at most.
• Your cookie choice: six months. Audience measurement cookies: thirteen months at most.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS only. Access to messages and to our providers' tools is restricted to the people who need it and protected by strong authentication. Your data is never sold or rented.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interest. You can withdraw your consent to cookies at any time using the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page. You can also set instructions on what happens to your data after your death.

To exercise these rights, write to us at contact@barkeltech.com. We reply within one month. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (the French data protection authority, www.cnil.fr).

Changes

We may update this policy, for example if we change service provider. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page.
